The International School Batam (ISB) was established in 1999 by the under the International School Foundation (Yayasan Sekolah Internasional) Incorporated in Batam.
Purpose of the Foundation or Yayasan is to provide an International School facility in Batam as a facility for foreign residents, and to encourage foreign companies with investments on the island to bring expatriate staff with families to Batam where schooling of international standard can be provided.
The Foundation board includes: Dr. Ramdani Chancellor (Chairperson), Ms. Annie Maass, Wiyani
Founding members: Mr. Bruce Comley, Drs. Aripin Nasir and Mr. Alan Chancellor.
Basic Business Policy :
ISB is a non-profit organisation and financially transparent.
International Curriculum Standard :
ISB is supported and advised by The British International School,Jakarta, and uses the British National Curriculum.
School Management :
ISB is managed by interested parents and volunteers from the international and local community for the purpose of Education.

Is dedicated to develop in students the qualities and skills necessary to become confident, self motivated and responsible.
